Tamarac Turkey Trot 5K Registration Open | City News

Registration is open for the City of Tamarac's 46th annual Turkey Trot 5K race, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 26. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 NW 88th Avenue.

Runners, walkers and participants of all abilities can register. The event includes a pre-race stretch, live music and a community gathering before the race.

The course starts at NW 77th Street and Pine Island Road, heads south, proceeds east on NW 75th Street, north on 80th Avenue, and west on NW 81st Street before returning to Pine Island Road and finishing at City Hall. Roads along the route will close to traffic from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on race day.

Registration fees are tiered. Early registration costs $30 until Friday, Oct. 30. From Oct. 31 to Nov. 17, the fee is $35. Participants registering between Nov. 18 and Nov. 25 will pay $40, or until slots are filled. Same-day registration is unavailable.

The first 2,000 registrants receive a commemorative 2026 Tamarac Turkey Trot t-shirt. All finishers with a bib will receive a medal. Trophies will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers and winners in each age group.

Packet pickup is available Nov. 23, 24 and 25 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tamarac City Hall. Race-day packet pickup begins at 6:30 a.m. at the same location.

Parking at City Hall is limited. A shuttle service will run from the Tamarac Walmart Neighborhood Market, 6931 NW 88th Avenue, to the event.
