Pasco County earns a major national award for our forward‑thinking approach to shaping our future!  The National Association of Counties (NACo) is honoring Pasco with its prestigious EDGE Excellence in Strategic Planning Award for celebrating our vision, commitment and outstanding work in developing the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. “We’ve always been focused on being the very best stewards of taxpayer dollars,” says Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer Dr. Marc Bellas.  “This Strategic Planning Award validates our laser focus on turning these dollars into long‑term benefits for the Pasco community.” As communities across the country strive to build smarter, more resilient systems, Pasco is leading the way.  We’re proud that our commitment to collaboration, transparency and long‑term vision has earned Pasco County one of the top honors in government strategic planning. “Your innovative approach and unwavering commitment have set a new standard for excellence, and we are honored to recognize your achievements,” says Director of NACo EDGE Beth Roberts.  “This award not only highlights your remarkable work but also reflects the positive impact you’ve made in shaping the future of your county.” Pasco’s Strategic Plan envisions a thriving community that offers enhanced quality of life and economic prosperity.  Developed over 18 months, with input from both internal and external customers, the plan is guiding Pasco County Government’s actions and activities through 2030 as we work toward becoming Florida’s Premier County. Plan Ahead

"Plan Ahead Not everyone likes to plan ahead, but preplanning your funeral arrangements not only gives you peace of mind about your final wishes being honored, but alleviates some of the stress and burden your loved ones are going through as they experience the grief associated with loss.‍The staff of Hodges Family Funeral Home is happy to assist with your funeral preneeds by helping you make decisions about your funeral service in advance and guiding you in helping eliminate some of the unnecessary stress brought on by a loved one’s death. Benefits of Preplanning Planning Ahead Lets Your Wishes Be Known The death of a loved one often brings about unwarranted stress and turmoil among families. One family member wants one thing, while another family member wants something different. By planning ahead, you help prevent those disagreements by letting your family know what your wishes are and how you want your funeral service to be carried out and your business handled. Planning Ahead Offers Peace of Mind Our staff will carry out the arrangements you want, just as you directed. Once the plans have been arranged, you and your family can rest easy knowing at the time of death, those uncomfortable decisions have been made. In a time when a family should be able to grieve, preplanning allows for that to happen. Planning Ahead Offers Flexible Funding Options When you preplan your funeral arrangements, there are more options when it comes to funding the funeral. A preneed insurance policy, life insurance policy or another payment option can all be arranged before the time of death. At the time of death, services must be paid in full, so having options ahead of time can also reduce financial stress related to losing someone. Planning Ahead Relieves The Burden From Family There are more than 150 decisions that have to be made within the first day or two following the death of a loved one. Those stressful decisions can be eliminated by arranging your final wishes ahead of time. If those decisions are made, your loved ones aren’t left wondering what you would have wanted and how they should proceed with funeral plans. With those decisions out of the way, your loved one can begin the healing process sooner. Common Questions about Preplanning What steps are involved in prearranging a funeral? The first step would be to write down your wishes. Indicate if you would prefer burial or cremation. Write down your ideas for the service you would like, cemetery choice, etc. If you've made those choices, or even if you're unsure, schedule a time to meet with one of our funeral directors who can explain the different service options, merchandise choices, as well as the different ways to pay for the funeral. What information do I need to prearrange a funeral? You'll need basic information about yourself or the person you are planning for, such as date of birth, marital status, parent's full names, etc. Besides the biological information, you'll need to choose burial or cremation, what type of service you'd like, what cemetery to use, etc. Our caring staff will help you with this process. Do I have to pay in advance? Preplanning is merely making your wishes known; however, most families who do this also choose to pre-fund their funeral. Doing so will relieve the financial burden on your family and offer peace of mind to you."

Equip – Class

Equip – Class The Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 states “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”  While God has not placed the same calling on all of our lives, we all have things in common that God has called us to.  It is our desire that we can utilize the different gifts and experiences that God has given us to help EQUIP our fellow believers in their walk with the Lord.  This class is designed for the believer that wants to grow, learn, practice, and utilize the equipment that God has given us in His word.  This class is attended by those of all ages and is open to all those that would seek after what God has for them.  Our hope is that one day we too can say just like the Apostle Paul “I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” Join us Sunday Mornings at 9 AM in room 208 for refreshments and coffee as we seek what the Lord has for us in his Word.
