A Hudson High School student faces multiple charges after allegedly deploying pepper spray on school grounds Friday. The incident prompted a brief, precautionary lockdown at both Hudson High and Hudson Academy.

Deputies with the Pasco Sheriff's Office responded after the student fled Hudson High following the pepper spray deployment. Hudson Academy was placed on a controlled campus status while deputies searched for the student. Those exposed to the pepper spray received medical attention.

Deputies located the student, who now faces charges including two counts of aggravated battery, possession of a weapon on school grounds, discharge of a weapon on school grounds, and disorderly conduct. The Sheriff's Office confirmed no ongoing threat to either school, and both institutions have resumed normal operations.

The Pasco Sheriff's Office encourages the community to report suspicious activities via the Pasco Sheriff’s Office website. The site also allows residents to check the progress of submitted tips.
