Tressie Miller, Crossett Resident and First Baptist Member, Dies at 97

Tressie Miller, 97, died Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Stonegate Villa Health and Rehab. Born November 21, 1926, in Fountain Hill to Joe and Ruby Bolin Forrest, Miller spent her life as a homemaker, gardener, and painter devoted to her family and First Baptist Church of Crossett.

She leaves behind her son James Miller and his wife Brenda of Hamburg, daughter-in-law Pam Miller of Crossett, and five grandchildren: Jennifer Stephenson and her husband David, Stephanie Clary and her husband Brandon, Ashley Miller, Michael Miller, and Jeremy Miller and his wife Stephanie. Nine great-grandchildren survive her, as do numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Her husband J.W. Miller, son Gary Miller, and siblings J.W. Forrest, Paul Forrest, and Eloise Forrest Davis preceded her in death.

First Baptist Church of Crossett hosts a Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, with Bro. Jamie Staley officiating. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment follows at Crossroads Cemetery.

Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service handles arrangements. The family requests donations to First Baptist Church of Crossett or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
