A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Coastal Wakulla, including Saint Marks and Panacea, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL, effective October 7 at 2:09 PM EDT. Residents in these areas should complete preparations now as hazardous conditions are anticipated.
Life-threatening storm surge of 3-5 feet above ground is possible from Friday morning until Saturday morning. Damage to coastal buildings and roads is expected. If evacuation orders are given for your area, leave immediately. Additionally, potential for wind speeds of 39 to 57 mph are forecast. Prepare for limited wind damage and secure loose outdoor objects. Heavy rainfall of 3-6 inches is expected, with localized higher amounts, which could lead to moderate flooding, evacuations, and rescues. Heed any flood watches and warnings. Tornadoes are not expected at this time. This Tropical Storm Watch is set to expire on October 7 at 10:15 PM EDT.
