Residents in parts of northern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin are advised to exercise extreme caution due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Duluth, MN.

The advisory is effective immediately, beginning September 27 at 9:35 PM CDT, and will remain in effect until Monday, September 28 at 10:00 AM CDT. Visibility is reported to be one-quarter mile or less, creating hazardous driving conditions.

Affected areas in Minnesota include Crow Wing, Northern Aitkin, Pine, South Aitkin, Carlton and South St. Louis, Central St. Louis, and Northern Cook and Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, the advisory applies to Price, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Sawyer, and Washburn Counties.

Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights and fog lights, and maintain increased following distances. These measures are critical to navigating the reduced visibility safely during this period.
