Residents in Koochiching, North Itasca, Central St. Louis, North St. Louis, and Northern Cook and Lake Counties must take immediate action to protect sensitive plants from sub-freezing temperatures expected tonight. A Freeze Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Duluth, effective from 1 AM to 9 AM CDT on Monday, October 5.

Temperatures as low as 31 degrees Fahrenheit are anticipated during this period. These conditions can kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Unprotected outdoor plumbing may also be damaged. The NWS advises taking steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
