**Special Weather Statement issued September 21 at 5:03PM CDT by NWS Birmingham AL**

At 503 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Benevola to near Myrtlewood. Movement was west at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include... Demopolis, Livingston, Eutaw, York, Cuba, Jefferson, Forkland, Boligee, Union, Gainesville, Epes, Myrtlewood, Emelle, Panola, West Greene, The University Of West Alabama, Thornhill, Dug Hill, Tishabee, and New West Greene.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 59 between mile markers 2 and 44. US Highway 43 between mile markers 146 and 160. US Highway 80 between mile markers 2 and 34.

**What You Should Do:**

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
