Dense Fog Advisory Nearing End for Northwest Kansas, Southwest Nebraska
A Dense Fog Advisory for parts of northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska is set to expire today at 11:00 AM CDT, though drivers should remain alert for lingering fog patches.
A Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Goodland, KS, is set to expire today, September 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM CDT. The advisory, which was in effect for Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Thomas, Sheridan, and Graham counties in Kansas, and Hitchcock and Red Willow counties in Nebraska, indicates that dense fog is becoming less widespread.
Residents in these affected areas should remain alert for isolated patches of dense fog through the remainder of the morning. While the widespread threat is diminishing, localized areas may still experience reduced visibility.
Drivers are advised to exercise caution and adjust their driving to current conditions if they encounter fog. This includes slowing down, using low-beam headlights, and increasing following distances.
