Dense Fog Advisory for Northwest Kansas, Southwest Nebraska Until 10 AM CDT
A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for parts of northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska until 10:00 AM CDT today, significantly reducing visibility and creating hazardous driving conditions.
Drivers in portions of northwest and west-central Kansas and southwest Nebraska are advised to slow down, use headlights, and maintain extra following distance due to a Dense Fog Advisory. The National Weather Service in Goodland, Kansas, issued the advisory, which is in effect until 10:00 AM CDT this morning, September 28.
Visibility is significantly reduced to one-quarter mile or less in dense fog, making driving conditions hazardous. The advisory impacts Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Sherman, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, Wallace, Logan, Gove, Greeley, and Wichita counties in Kansas, as well as Red Willow County in Nebraska.
The Dense Fog Advisory is expected to expire at 10:00 AM CDT (9:00 AM MDT) today. A separate, second Dense Fog Advisory is also in effect from 8:00 AM CDT (7:00 AM MDT) to 10:00 AM CDT (9:00 AM MDT) on Tuesday. Residents in the affected areas should exercise extreme caution if driving during these periods.
