Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Area Counties Overnight
A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, Gove, Hitchcock, and Red Willow counties from 1 AM to 10 AM CDT Sunday, with visibility expected to be a quarter-mile or less.
Drivers in Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, and Gove counties in Kansas, and Hitchcock and Red Willow counties in Nebraska, should prepare for hazardous driving conditions due to a Dense Fog Advisory. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Goodland, KS, issued the advisory tonight, September 26, at 8:33 PM CDT, effective from 1:00 AM to 10:00 AM CDT on Sunday, September 27.
Visibility is expected to drop to one-quarter mile or less in dense fog, making travel dangerous. The NWS advises anyone driving within the affected areas during these hours to slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance between their vehicle and others.
The advisory is set to expire at 10:00 AM CDT on Sunday, September 27. Please exercise extreme caution if you must travel.
