Clearwater Family Gets New Habitat Home After Hurricane

Liman and Blerta Hidri will move into a Habitat for Humanity home after flood damage left their family without stable housing.

Liman, a quality technician at Bausch and Lomb, and Blerta, an assistant teacher, have spent over half their income on rent while raising their one-year-old daughter Ayra. Their previous home flooded during a recent hurricane when Ayra was two months old, forcing the family to contend with contaminated water, mold, and air quality concerns.

"A Habitat home would give us a foundation for dignity, security, and hope," Liman said.

The couple immigrated to the United States, where Liman advanced from manufacturing work to his current role. Both prioritize education and financial stability for their daughter. The family expects to move into their new home in Clearwater.
