A Heat Advisory has been issued for Mendocino and Lake Counties, effective from Wednesday, October 7 at 11:04 PM PDT until Thursday, October 8 at 11:00 PM PDT. Residents should prepare for high temperatures and take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Eureka CA has forecast high temperatures between 95 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit, with overnight lows remaining in the high 50s and 60s. This elevated heat poses a moderate to localized major HeatRisk across the Northwestern, Northeastern, Southwestern, and Southeastern Interior Mendocino areas, as well as Northern, Western, Southwestern, and Eastern Lake County.

To prevent heat-related illnesses, the NWS advises the public to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended to check on relatives and neighbors, especially those vulnerable to heat. This advisory is issued by NWS Eureka CA.
