The advisory is effective immediately, beginning October 6 at 9:14 PM PDT, and will remain in effect until 11:00 PM PDT on Thursday, October 8. High temperatures are expected to reach 95 to 102 degrees Fahrenheit, with overnight lows in the high 50s and 60s. This forecast indicates a Moderate to localized Major HeatRisk, meaning heat illnesses are possible for those exposed to the heat.
To prevent heat-related illnesses, the National Weather Service advises the public to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. These precautions are crucial during this period of elevated temperatures.
