Darlene Roark, 76, of Flat Rock

Darlene Roark, 76, of Flat Rock, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.Born on February 24, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, Darlene was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Ruby Jones. She was raised in Detroit's Herman Gardens neighborhood and attended Cody High School. Darlene shared a close bond with her siblings throughout her life. She is survived by her loving sisters and brothers: Sharon Allen (Jim), Linda Torbet (Chris), Cheryl Warren (Ben), David Jones (Vicky), and Janice Sawyer (Dennis). She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Strickland (Jeff), and her brother, Buck Jones.Darlene was devoted to her family and shared many happy years with her husband, the late Jay Roark. Together they raised two daughters, the late Jamie Lacombe (Alfred) and Jaclyn Forrest (Scott).She found joy in life's simple pleasures and treasured every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Darlene leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Cody Roark (Kayla), Connor Lacombe, Landon Forrest, Luke Forrest, and Audree Evans, as well as her cherished and beloved grand-dog, Ben.Darlene will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for those closest to her. Her warmth and devotion to family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.Darlene will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Jay Roark, on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of Jay Roark’s distinguished service in the U.S. Army.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Glioblastoma Research Organization in Darlene's memory.Though she is gone from our sight, Darlene's love, laughter, and memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
