A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Ashland in Clay County, effective immediately as of October 9 at 9:56 PM CDT by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL. This warning will remain in effect until October 10 at 6:00 AM UTC. Residents in Ashland should act now to complete preparations for hazardous wind and significant flooding.

The NWS forecasts peak winds of 20-30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph, posing a limited threat of damage to unanchored structures, large tree limbs, and some roadways. Scattered power and communications outages are possible. Efforts to protect property should be underway.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 1-3 inches of rain expected, potentially leading to moderate flooding. Rivers and streams may overflow, and floodwaters could enter some structures. Residents in flood-vulnerable areas should consider protective actions and heed all flood watches and warnings.
