The Hernando County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) now offers enhanced public access to its records through its Records Section. Residents can find information about public records, definitions, and answers to frequently asked questions.

For information on registered sex offenders and predators, the HCSO provides direct links to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's database. A map is also available to show the proximity of registered offenders and predators to neighborhoods.

The HCSO's public records portal allows searches for arrests and offense reports made by the Sheriff's Office. A "Quick Dates" feature provides access to records from yesterday, September 12, 2026, back to September 5, 2026. Similar options exist for offense reports. Searches can be narrowed by first name, last name for arrests, or street name for offense reports.

Information on civil data, specifically individuals served with papers, is also accessible. A "quick look" at people served in the last three days is available. Residents can also search for specific civil papers served by name. A delay may occur between service and system entry.

The Sheriff's Office also provides access to an economic crime report section, allowing users to review arrests made within a specified date range. This query includes arrests made only by the HCSO. All arrests booked into the Hernando County Jail appear on a separate Jail Search page.

The records database contains only information not classified as confidential under Florida public records laws. Requests for records prior to October 1, 1995, require a formal records request.
