Extreme Heat Warning Issued for San Diego Inland Valleys Through Thursday
An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for San Diego County Inland Valleys by the National Weather Service, effective immediately through Thursday, October 8, with dangerously hot temperatures expected up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Residents of the San Diego County Inland Valleys should prepare for dangerously hot conditions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego. This warning is effective immediately, October 6, 2026, at 3:38 PM PDT, and will remain in effect until Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 8:00 PM PDT.
High temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Nighttime lows will offer little relief, remaining very warm in the mid-60s to low 70s. The NWS emphasizes that heat-related illnesses significantly increase during extreme heat events.
To mitigate risks, residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and stay out of the sun. It is crucial to check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable to heat-related issues.
Never leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures rapidly, posing a severe danger.
