Extreme Heat Warning Issued for San Diego Coastal Areas Through Thursday
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for San Diego County Coastal Areas until Thursday, October 8, with dangerously hot conditions and high temperatures expected to cause heat-related illnesses; residents are advised to stay hydrated, seek air conditioning, and check on others.
San Diego County residents in coastal areas are urged to take immediate precautions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA. The warning is effective from Tuesday, October 6, at 3:38 PM PDT until Thursday, October 8, at 8:00 PM PDT.
Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with high temperatures reaching the mid-80s to lower 90s at beaches, and upper 90s in mesas and higher coastal terrain. Nights will offer little relief, with low temperatures remaining in the low 70s. These conditions significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
The NWS advises everyone to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and stay out of the sun. It is crucial to check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable to the heat. Never leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures rapidly.
