Beachgoers are advised to remain out of the water along the coasts of Benzie, Manistee, and Mackinac Counties, including Beaver Island and surrounding islands, due to a Beach Hazards Statement issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Gaylord MI.
This statement is effective from Wednesday morning, September 30, until Wednesday evening, September 30. Dangerous swimming conditions are expected, with waves as high as 3 to 5 feet and the presence of rip currents.
The NWS warns that a high swim risk indicates life-threatening waves and currents. For your safety, it is crucial to stay out of the water and avoid dangerous areas such as piers and breakwalls during this period.
