Huston Jr. “Whitey” Alexander, 79, of Aurora, IL passed away, Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Rush Copley Medical Center. He was born October 22, 1946 in Aurora, IL, the son of Huston M. and Bette (Wagner) Alexander.Whitey was a Veteran of US Army serving during Vietnam. During his time in the military, he married the love of his life, Lynn Thryselius on December 22, 1966 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Aurora. Whitey was employed at Siegles Lumber in St. Charles and after they closed, he worked for Chicago Flame Proof until retiring in 2018. Monday evenings were always date nights at the casino for he and Lynn. He was a die-hard sports fan.Whitey is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lynn; 2 sons, Brian Alexander and Tony Alexander; 5 grandchildren, Kylie (Marcus Harris) Alexander, Brandon (Vanessa Medina) Alexander, Levi (Gracie Keller) Alexander, Jordan Alexander and Jason Alexander; 7 great grandchildren, Olivia Benitez, Mateo Alexander, Jayce Alexander, Walker Alexander, Oaklynn Alexander and twins arriving in July; 1 sister, Rose Burgess of Aurora and several nieces and nephews to include Scott Thryselius.Family will be receiving guests on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Aurora, IL.
