A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Lower St. Bernard Parish, including Yscloskey, Delacroix, and Shell Beach, by the National Weather Service (NWS) New Orleans LA as of October 8 at 10:01 AM CDT. This warning indicates a life-threatening storm surge is possible, with peak inundation potentially reaching 3-5 feet above ground in surge-prone areas.

Residents in affected areas are advised to leave immediately if evacuation orders are given to avoid being cut off from emergency services. Evacuation efforts and flood preparations should be completed before conditions become unsafe. The window of concern for this storm surge is from Friday morning until Saturday morning.

In addition to storm surge, hazardous winds are expected, with peak gusts up to 40 mph. Efforts to protect property, such as securing loose objects, should be underway. Scattered power and communication outages are possible, along with limited damage to structures like sheds and awnings.
