A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Lower St. Bernard Parish, including Yscloskey, Delacroix, and Shell Beach, as of 4:12 AM CDT this morning, October 9, issued by the National Weather Service in New Orleans. This warning is set to expire at 12:15 PM UTC today.
Residents in surge-prone areas must remain sheltered in a safe location. Life-threatening storm surge of 3-5 feet above ground is possible through Saturday morning. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be complete, with evacuees well away from flood zones. Do not venture outside.
While sustained winds are expected to remain below tropical storm force (25-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph), conditions will be gusty. No additional significant rainfall or tornadoes are forecast.
