Sustained south to southwest winds are expected to reach 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 45-55 mph. These stronger gusts are anticipated to occur near showers and thunderstorms. Areas specifically affected include Ajo/Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Sells, and Eloy/Picacho Peak State Park.
Impacts from these winds may include unsecured objects being blown around. There is also a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and isolated power outages. The NWS advises that driving may be difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Exercise extra caution if traveling during this period.
