Cape Coral Wins Tree City of the World 2025
Cape Coral earned the 2025 Tree City of the World designation from the Arbor Day Foundation on April 15, marking the second consecutive year the city has received the international honor.
The Arbor Day Foundation, partnering with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, grants recognition to cities that demonstrate commitment to planting, growing, and maintaining urban forests. Cape Coral met five core standards: establishing responsibility for tree care, enacting tree and forest management policies, maintaining an updated assessment of local tree resources, allocating resources for a tree management plan, and holding an annual tree celebration.
The city first earned the designation in 2024. Both awards reflect Cape Coral's investment in tree management and community education.
