Cape Coral Police Issue 87 Citations in Speed Enforcement

Cape Coral Police stopped 99 vehicles during a six-hour speed and aggressive driving enforcement operation on May 18, issuing 87 citations citywide.

Officers worked from 6 a.m. to noon, issuing 65 speeding citations and 11 aggressive driving citations. They also cited 15 drivers for traffic control violations and issued 16 warnings. No DUI or criminal arrests occurred.

The Florida Department of Transportation funded the operation. Cape Coral ranks ninth among 38 Florida agencies in speeding and aggressive driving fatalities and serious injuries, according to the Highway Safety Matrix.
