A Wind Advisory has been issued for Cambria and Somerset Counties from 8 PM tonight until 2 PM EDT Sunday, with gusts up to 45 mph expected to cause downed tree limbs and potential power outages.
Residents in Cambria and Somerset Counties should prepare for strong winds. A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in State College, PA, effective from 8:00 PM this evening, October 10, until 2:00 PM EDT on Sunday, October 11.
Southeast winds are expected to reach speeds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts potentially as high as 45 mph. The NWS advises that the strongest winds will be experienced to the west of the tallest ridges.
These gusty winds could blow around unsecured outdoor objects. There is also a possibility of tree limbs being blown down, which may lead to scattered power outages.
For your safety, the NWS urges all residents to use extra caution when driving, particularly if operating a high-profile vehicle. Additionally, secure any outdoor objects that could be affected by strong winds.
