City of Bryant Awarded $600,000 Economic Development Grant for Railway Street Improvements
The South Dakota Department of Transportation reminds travelers to steer clear of scams. Please delete texts or emails that state money is owed for an unpaid toll or parking ticket. Reminder: all South Dakota state-owned roads and bridges are toll-free. KXLG Radio: City of Bryant Awarded $600,000 Economic Development Grant for Railway Street Improvements The City of Bryant has been awarded a $600,000 Community Access Grant by the South Dakota Transportation Commission to fund critical infrastructure improvements along Railway Street. The grant will support road upgrades serving both the Farmers Union Co-op and Bryant’s downtown business district. The award is part of a broader state initiative announced by the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), which distributed approximately $2.36 million in economic development grants to rural communities across South Dakota. The program covers up to 80 percent of construction costs for projects designed to strengthen local economies and improve access to key community areas, including business sectors, schools, and agricultural hubs. “By supporting local infrastructure improvements, we’re helping communities strengthen their economies, create opportunities, and build a foundation for continued growth today and into the future,” said Transportation Secretary Joel Jundt. Additional Community Access Grants were awarded to the cities of Hoven ($556,200), Leola ($600,000), and Parker ($600,000). Postpartum: Adjusting to a New You | Sanford Health Skip to Main Content Postpartum: Adjusting to a New You Home Classes & Events Postpartum: Adjusting to a New You 10-6-26 Print Postpartum: Adjusting to a New You Designed for parents before childbirth and beneficial for new parents, this class will focus on what to expect during the first year after childbirth. This class will discuss the physical and emotional recovery throughout the postpartum period, balancing infant care with self-care needs including sleep, nutrition, hormone changes, and emotional wellness. Learn how relationships may need to adapt, tips for adjusting to new life routines, and the importance of having support during the initial weeks after birth. Participants will be given the tools to create their own postpartum plan to help them prepare for their postpartum period. When is the class? This 2 hour class is offered in-person and online Who should attend and when? Pregnant individuals towards the end of their pregnancy through few months postpartum. Partners or support persons are encouraged to also attend. If you have already had your baby, feel free to bring your baby to class (up until baby starts crawling). Eclass information: Microsoft Teams is the application used for our eclasses. We recommend using a desktop/laptop computer or ipad for the best user experience. Mobile devices are not encouraged. Other eclass participants may be able to see your display name and potential email address during the eclass. Sanford will not share attendance lists outside the eclass. FDA Food Code Webinars Postponed
FDA Food Code Webinars Postponed The South Dakota Department of Health’s Office of Health Protection is postponing the previously scheduled FDA Food Code Update webinars and stakeholder meetings. This postponement will allow us time to finalize a complete set of materials and training resources that will better support food establishment owners, operators, and community partners as we prepare for the potential transition to the 2022 FDA Food Code. Our intention is to hold a series of virtual stakeholder meetings throughout the winter and spring. We are currently developing a detailed implementation plan and timeline and will share those updates as soon as they are finalized. Thank you for your patience and continued engagement.
