USPS gives you several options: USPS Label Broker® Service: Bring your Label Broker ID (a QR Code®) to a Post Office™ location that has Label Broker at the counter or a Label Broker self-service kiosk and get it printed, free! USPS Label Delivery Service: For a fee, get a shipping label delivered directly to you. Someone Sent You a Label Broker ID (a QR Code) You're returning something to a store or sending something to a customer through an ecommerce platform, and they sent you an email or text with a Label Broker ID (a QR Code). Here's what you do next to create your shipping label: You DO Have a Printer You got an email or text with a Label Broker ID (a QR Code), and you can print on your own printer. - Go to the Label Broker tool. - Type in the 8-10 character Label Broker ID (under the QR Code) and your ZIP Code™, then hit the "Download Label" button. - You'll download your prepaid shipping label (a PDF file). Print that label. - Pack and seal your package, and tape the shipping label to it. - Drop off your ready-to-ship package at a Post Office location (or schedule a free package pickup). You DON'T Have a Printer You got an email or text with a Label Broker ID (a QR Code), and you want USPS to print the shipping label for you. - Save the Label Broker ID on your phone. - Pack and seal your package. - Take your ready-to-ship package and the Label Broker ID to a USPS location that supports Label Broker. - Go to the counter, give your package to the Retail Associate, and scan the Label Broker ID (QR Code) on your phone. They'll do the rest! (Or, if the location has a Label Broker self-service kiosk, you can do it yourself.) You're Sending a Package Using Click-N-Ship & You Want to Print a Label at the Post Office You're using Click-N-Ship® to make and pay for a shipping label for your package, but don't have your own printer. No problem, you can print your shipping label at a Post Office location. - Pay for your postage using Click-N-Ship. - When prompted, choose the option to "Print later at Post Office." - USPS will send you an email with a Label Broker ID (QR Code followed by 8-10 characters). Save this email on your phone. - Pack and seal your package. - Take your ready-to-ship package and your Label Broker ID to a USPS location that supports Label Broker (suggested locations are listed in the email). - Go to the counter, give your package to the Retail Associate, and show them the Label Broker QR Code on your phone. They'll do the rest! Or, for locations with a Label Broker self-service kiosk, you can skip the line, get your label, and drop off your package. Save Time: Print Labels at Self-Service Kiosks Self-service kiosks are automated stations you can use for many USPS tasks, including printing prepaid shipping labels with Label Broker. - Create and pay for a shipping label using Click-N-Ship. - Choose the option to "Print later at Post Office." - USPS will send you an email with a Label Broker ID (a QR Code). Save this email on your phone. (Or, if you're getting a Label Broker ID from a store or ecommerce platform, they'll email or text it to you.) - Find a USPS location with a Label Broker self-service kiosk, and take your ready-to-ship package and your Label Broker ID to the kiosk. - Follow the on-screen instructions to "Scan QR Code for Label" (or enter the 8-10 character Label Broker ID) when asked. - After the shipping label prints, stick it to your package. - Drop off your package at the drop-off area or receptacle. If you're not sure where, ask a Retail Associate. USPS Label Delivery Service When you use Click-N-Ship to create shipping labels online, you can add Label Delivery Service, where USPS will print and deliver you the physical labels for an additional $1.65 fee (per label). - Create a shipping label using Click-N-Ship. - Go to "Select Extra Services" and choose "Label Delivery—Outbound." - After you complete and pay for your label, your USPS letter carrier will deliver the printed label to your address. Plus, if you're a business interested in offering Label Broker to your customers (so they can easily send you returns), learn more about how you can sign up. Label Delivery Service If you're using Click-N-Ship with a business account, not only can you request Label Delivery service for your outbound label (for a fee, USPS will send you the label for the package going to your customer); for an additional fee, we will send you a prepaid return label that your customer can use for painless returns. Free Package Pickup at your home or office. $100 insurance is included (for both outbound and return shipments), and you can purchase up to $5,000 in additional coverage against loss or damage for merchandise. Primary option for sending hazardous materials (HAZMAT) that are only mailable using Ground Transportation. Weight, Size, & Shape Requirements Flats (Large Envelopes) Being Treated as Packages You'll need to pay the Ground Advantage price if you have a large First-Class Mail® envelope that is: More than 15" long, 12" high, or 3/4" thick Rigid (can't bend) Not uniformly thick (lumpy) Packages Up to 15.999 oz Price tiers are: up to 4 oz; up to 8 oz; up to 12 oz; and up to 15.999 oz. Round up to the nearest tier: For example, if your package weighs 4.2 oz, you'll pay the 8-oz price. Items over 15.999 oz round up to 1 lb and pay pound-rate prices. Packages over 15.999 oz and up to 70 lbs Maximum weight is 70 lbs. For items over 15.999 oz (which rounds up to 1 lb), rates are by the pound (lb), rounded up. For example, if your package weighs 8.3 lb, you will pay the 9-lb price. Maximum combined length and girth (girth is the distance around the thickest part) is 130 inches. Additional Package Fees Double-check your package measurements and contents: You'll pay additional fees if you're shipping a package that is large and lightweight, has a nonstandard size, shape, or material, or has perishable items. Dimensional Weight Dimensional (DIM) weight rates apply to large, lightweight packages. If your package is larger than 1 cubic foot (1,728 cubic inches): Multiply Length x Width x Height and divide by 139 to get the DIM weight in pounds. Any fraction of an inch must be rounded up to the next whole inch. For example, a measurement of 12.2 inches will be calculated as 13 inches. If the DIM weight is greater than the actual package weight, you'll need to pay the DIM weight price. If you omit or give inaccurate dimensions and/or don't pay the DIM weight rate (when it applies), you'll pay a dimension-noncompliance fee. Nonstandard Fee You'll pay extra fees for sending nonstandard packages that are harder for USPS to process. Fees vary based on the length, volume, or characteristics: If your package is between 22 and 30 inches long: add $4.50 More than 30 inches long: add $10.00 More than 2 cubic feet (3,456 cubic inches): add $21.00 A nonstandard shape or material: add $4.00 Examples include cylindrical tubes or rolls, cans, or wooden or metal boxes, packages containing more than 24 ounces of liquid in glass containers or 1 gallon or more of liquid in metal or plastic containers, and other mailable items with contents that may shift or cause the parcel to roll. Note: If your package has both nonstandard characteristics and length (for example, a tube that's longer than 30 inches), you'll only pay the higher nonstandard fee, not both. However, the fee for volume exceeding 2 cubic feet applies in all cases. Live Animal & Perishable Handling Fee You'll pay an extra $7.50 handling fee for packages with live animals or other perishable items: Examples of perishable items that may be allowed with proper packaging and required markings include: Live animals, Food, Plants. HAZMAT Handling Fee If you're sending Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), there is a $0.00 handling fee. Incorrectly labeled commercial shipments may be subject to a HAZMAT noncompliance fee. Mailing Restrictions & Prohibitions There are specific regulations and standards for mailing restricted, prohibited, and hazardous materials, including cigarettes and smokeless tobacco. Shipping to a Military Post Office (APO/FPO/DPO) You'll pay domestic prices for packages shipped to a Military Post Office (APO/FPO/DPO), but these destinations require a customs form and have specific restrictions.
