The sharp turn in the black asphalt pavement is the end of the straight former right of way of the Housatonic Railroad, now the Housatonic Rail Trail, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The embankment to the right holds northbound traffic on Connecticut Routes 25 and 8. The embankment construction obliterated the North Bridgeport station along Carson Street.

The Empire Theater of Bridgeport, Connecticut, showing the American drama film Over the Hill to the Poorhouse (1920), on page 50 of the December 17, 1921 Exhibitors Herald. The theater as a promotion had signs and banners made showing the winners of the November election and scooped local newspapers by over an hour.
