Seffner Safety: Red Light, School Zone & Bus Cameras Deployed

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is increasing traffic safety in Seffner and across the county by deploying red-light cameras, school zone speed cameras, and school bus cameras.

The HCSO, in partnership with RedSpeed, uses red-light cameras at high-risk intersections to record violations. This program aims to reduce crashes and encourage drivers to obey traffic signals.

Automated cameras also enforce school zone speed limits. These cameras activate during school arrival and departure times, targeting vehicles traveling more than 10 mph over the posted limit to encourage slower speeds in pedestrian-heavy areas.

Hillsborough County Public Schools, working with BusPatrol, equipped school buses with cameras. These cameras detect and record vehicles that illegally pass a stopped school bus, protecting children boarding and exiting transportation.
