Seffner residents now have a direct and anonymous way to report crimes and suspicious activities to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) through the Tip 411 system. This service allows citizens to share public safety information without revealing their identity.
The Tip 411 system provides multiple methods for submission, making it accessible to a wide range of users. Residents can download a free mobile app for their Android or iPhone devices, submit tips through an online form, or text the keyword CTYTIP along with their message to 847411. The mobile app also offers the capability to include photographs or videos with a tip by using the camera icon within the application.
Once submitted, all anonymous tips transmit instantly to the HCSO Communications Center. Staff there monitor the system 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The information then directs to the appropriate HCSO areas, such as patrol, narcotics, or warrants, ensuring the right department handles the report. It is important to remember that for emergencies, residents must still dial 911.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, located at P.O. Box 3371, Tampa, FL 33601, offers this service as part of its commitment to public safety. The main contact number for the HCSO is (813) 247-8000, with an emergency line also available at (813) 224-9911.
Residents can begin using the Tip 411 system immediately to report non-emergency crime or suspicious activity. This initiative provides a valuable tool for community members to assist law enforcement while maintaining their anonymity.
