Compassion House: Food & Clothing for Brandon Residents

Compassion House, a local outreach ministry, provides food and clothing to Brandon residents experiencing financial hardship. The ministry operates from 206 N. Moon Ave., Brandon, FL 33510.

Services are available from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, and from 10 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Wednesdays.

Compassion House's mission centers on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, aiming to offer practical assistance. The ministry serves an average of 50 to 75 individuals and families monthly.

The ministry seeks community support through donations and volunteers. Currently, it needs canned goods such as peas, baked beans, black beans, pork and beans, chickpeas, red beans, kidney beans, and chicken noodle soup. Hams, peanut butter, instant oatmeal, instant potatoes, white and yellow rice are also requested. Basic hygiene products for men and women, including body wash, deodorant, shampoo, and conditioner, are also in demand.

Volunteers can serve as greeters, in hospitality roles, as personal food or clothing shoppers, shelf stockers, or counselors for one-to-one evangelism. Interested individuals can contact Compassion House to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
