Attacks Cause Casualties in Russian-Controlled Donetsk and Kyiv
DONETSK, Ukraine — Attacks in Russian-controlled Donetsk on Saturday resulted in seven deaths and 26 injuries, according to officials appointed by Russia. The reported fatalities included a child, officials stated. Emergency services personnel arrived at the scene following the strikes.
Simultaneously, Russian forces launched overnight strikes against Ukraine, sparking fires across the capital city of Kyiv. Ukrainian officials reported multiple civilian casualties in connection with these attacks. Authorities initiated damage assessment and recovery operations in affected areas of Kyiv.
Russian-backed officials in Donetsk attributed the attacks to Ukrainian forces. Conversely, Ukrainian authorities condemned the Russian strikes on Kyiv as unlawful aggressions. Both governments have commenced investigations into the respective incidents.
