Palm Beach County’s Department of Housing and Economic Development (HED) hereby announces the availability of $4,000,000 in State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funds for the Owner-Occupied Ho

Palm Beach County’s Department of Housing and Economic Development (HED) hereby announces the availability of $4,000,000 in State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funds for the Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program. Funding will provide up to $100,000 to assist extremely low, very low- and low-income eligible homeowners with substantial rehabilitation to correct code violations, items that will become a code violation, hurricane hardening (impact windows, doors, etc.), eliminate housing conditions that threaten the life, health, or safety of occupants, connect residents to public utilities, and adapt residences to meet accessibility requirements. NOTE: If there is “unpermitted work” on the property, the property may be ineligible to receive assistance. Household Size and Eligible Income Categories to be Served: Number of Persons in Household Maximum Household Income (80% Area Median Income) 1 $71,950 2 $82,250 3 $92,550 4 $102,800 5 $111,050 *HED staff can provide information for households of 6 or more persons The online application portal will open on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 12:00 pm, and close on Friday, November 27, 2026, at 11:59 pm. Eligible residents can apply by visiting the website at https://pbcgov.com/HED. Once the application portal closes, 50 applications will be selected through a random selection process. NOTE: Additional program information and required documents may be viewed on the website. The celebration will recognize a member of America’s “Greatest Generation” and give family, friends, community members, and local leaders an opportunity to come together in appreciation of his contributions and the sacrifices made by those who served during World War II. Palm Beach County Commissioner Maria G. Marino will be presenting a special proclamation to our veteran in honor of this momentous event. World War II Veterans hold a special place in our nation’s history. Their courage, dedication, and willingness to serve helped shape the freedoms and opportunities enjoyed by generations that followed. This birthday celebration is an opportunity to not only recognize one veteran’s life and service, but also to honor the legacy of an entire generation of Americans who answered the call to duty.
