Fort Walton Beach: Prioritizing Window Safety with Hunter Douglas Shades

Window safety is a critical concern for families with young children and pets. Dangling cords from window coverings can pose a strangulation hazard. Hunter Douglas understands this risk and has made window safety a top priority in their designs. They offer a variety of operating systems, including cordless and motorized options, that eliminate the need for cords, thereby reducing the risk of accidents. Here are some steps you can take to ensure your home is safe: * **Choose Cordless or Motorized Options:** Hunter Douglas offers a wide range of cordless and motorized operating systems, such as LiteRise®, PowerView® Automation, and SimpleLift™. These options eliminate dangling cords, making your windows safer for children and pets. * **Keep Cords Out of Reach:** If you have corded window coverings, make sure the cords are always out of reach of children. Use cord cleats or tie-down devices to secure the cords. * **Move Cribs and Furniture Away From Windows:** Place cribs, beds, and other furniture away from windows with cords. Children can climb on furniture to reach the cords, increasing the risk of entanglement. * **Regularly Inspect Your Window Coverings:** Check your window coverings regularly for any signs of damage or wear. Repair or replace any damaged or worn parts immediately. By taking these simple steps, you can help create a safer home for your family. Gotcha Covered of Fort Walton Beach is committed to helping you find the perfect window coverings that meet your safety needs and style preferences. Contact us today for a consultation!
