Boca Raton PD Public Records Services & Appointments

The Boca Raton Police Department provides several services for residents seeking public records. These include fingerprinting, local background checks, VIN verifications, and access to 911 call recordings and related media.

Ink fingerprinting requires appointments, available Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Police Department is located at 100 NW Boca Raton Blvd. Fingerprinting costs $15 per card; blank cards cost an additional $1.

Local background checks, which examine incidents within city limits, cost $30. Requests require a name and date of birth, or a local address. Residents can submit these requests in person at the Police Department or through the city's online Records Request portal, JustFOIA.

Vehicle inspections for FSS 316.610 violations are available for $4 without an appointment. VIN verifications for insurance or title purposes cost $25, also without an appointment. An officer can meet a vehicle within Boca Raton city limits for inspection or verification if it cannot be driven to the department, following payment.

Requests for 911 call copies, photographs, audio, or videos are also accepted. Information identifying a 911 caller will be redacted according to Florida State Statutes. Residents can submit these requests by mail, fax, in person, or online. The department will provide an invoice for associated costs, and requests typically are fulfilled after payment.

The department also maintains a free log of missing and found animals. Residents can access this information by calling (561) 368-6201.
