David G. Brault, 88, of South Cairo, NY, passed away on Friday May 15,2026. He was born in Chicopee, MA to Alexander Brault and Bertha Alice Hervieux.Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Eric J. Dykeman, Brothers, Edgar Brault, Alexander Brault, Norman Brault, and Ronald Brault. Sisters, Isabelle Burgess, and Gloria Brault. Survived by sister Janet Dewitt and brother Charles Brault.He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Catherine (Boomhower) Brault, son Donald Dykeman (Dawn), daughters Ramona Dykeman (David Alexander), Eustacia Argabright (Kermit), Joy Hutyra (David), and Melissa Sherman (David). Grandsons Christopher Hutyra, James Soukup, Keith Hutyra, Donn O'Dell, Nico Tarcia, Ryan Dykeman, and Nash Dykeman.Granddaughter LeeAnne Dykeman, Elora Dykeman, and Elise Dykeman. Great grandchildren Noah Dykeman, Metzli O'Dell, Evan Soukup, and Jaylee Soukup.David served in the United States Navy and served on the Ticonderoga, and the Intrepid. He was a hard worker and drove Semi trucks for most of his adult life.After he retired, he was a grounds maintenance worker for Elgan Properties for over 20 years. He loved country music and games shows on t.v. If you didn't see him on the lawn mower you could find him in his shed tinkering around with something. He never sat still for very long.He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many. He also loved his two dogs Bella and Shadow.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday May 23, 2026, from 2 pm to 4 pm with a 4 pm Celebration of Life service at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, NY 12414.In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of David can be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Dementia Society of American.
