**Special Weather Statement issued September 17 at 3:48PM PDT by NWS Pendleton OR**

At 348 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles southeast of Bates, or 28 miles east of John Day, moving northwest at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include... Blue Mountain Pass.

This includes Highway 26 between mile markers 188 and 199.
