A Wind Advisory is in effect for parts of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington until 11 AM PDT today, September 25, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland has issued this advisory, warning of south winds between 15 to 25 mph, with gusts potentially reaching up to 45 mph.
Affected areas include the Lower Columbia River, Tualatin Valley, West Hills and Chehalem Mountains, Inner and East Portland Metro, Outer Southeast Portland Metro, West and East Central Willamette Valley, Clackamas County Cascade Foothills, Willapa Hills, Cowlitz County Lowlands, North and East Clark County Lowlands, Inner Vancouver Metro, and South Washington Cascade Foothills.
These gusty winds are expected to blow around unsecured objects. Readers should be prepared for potential tree limb damage and widely scattered power outages. The NWS notes that full leaf cover on trees may increase the likelihood of wind damage at lower wind speeds than usual.
Residents are advised to use extra caution when driving, particularly if operating high-profile vehicles. Secure all outdoor objects, such as garbage cans and other items that can easily be blown away, to prevent property damage or injury.
