Duval County Schools Get 10 Electric Buses Funded by EPA Grant

Atlantic Beach students will soon ride cleaner and quieter thanks to 10 new electric school buses for Team Duval. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded funding through its Clean School Bus Program.

The grant covers the purchase of the electric buses, which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality near schools. The transition is expected to create a healthier environment and potentially save on fuel and maintenance costs.

"We are thrilled to receive this federal funding, which will allow us to significantly enhance our transportation fleet with cutting-edge electric buses," said Dr. Diana Greene, Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools. The EPA's Clean School Bus Program supports school districts nationwide in replacing older diesel buses with zero-emission electric models. Duval County Public Schools has been modernizing its transportation services, and the new buses mark a key milestone.
