Geraldine Brown, 92, Duval County Resident, Dies

Geraldine Brown, a longtime Duval County resident, died Sept. 14, 2026, at Baptist Medical Center Beaches. She was 92.

Born Geraldine Millington on June 15, 1934, in Jacksonville, Mrs. Brown spent most of her life in the area. Her father worked as a shrimper, and the family moved occasionally. She was raised in the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Brown worked in the meat department at A & P Grocery, later at Atlantic Seafood Fish Market, and finished her career in retail sales. She hand-knit quilts for her grandchildren and was a fan of the Florida Gators.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Howard and Paul (Linda) Brown; her brothers, Donnie (Debbie) Millington and Ronnie Millington; her sisters, Eloise Leek and Becky (Elton) Jackson; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Tennis Lyle Millington; her husband, Frank Brown; her son, Dale Brown; grandson, Kenneth Brown; sister, Joyce Jones; brother, James Millington; and brothers-in-law, Al Leek and Jake Jones.

A private graveside gathering took place Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at Beaches Memorial Park. V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services at Beaches Memorial Park, 1500 Main St., Atlantic Beach, handled arrangements.
