Atlantic Beach Seeks Artists for Patriotic Mural

The City of Atlantic Beach seeks proposals from artists and artist teams for a new permanent patriotic mural at the Marsh Oaks Community Center. The public art installation will adorn the exterior and grounds of the center at 100 W. First St.

The mural's theme will focus on patriotic motifs, military tributes, and civic values including Honor, Service, and Sacrifice. Artists may incorporate regional wildlife, inspired by coastal birds near Hanna Park. While reference imagery is available, proposed designs need not strictly adhere to it.

Materials must withstand coastal conditions, including salty air and sun. Artists aged 18 and older residing in, working in, or studying in Duval, St. Johns, and Nassau Counties are eligible. A connection to Atlantic Beach, such as living in neighborhoods like Selva Marina or appreciating the town's spirit, will be an advantage.

The proposed budget is a critical selection factor. All artists, regardless of budget size, background, or past work scale, are encouraged to apply. Submissions require a single PDF containing an Artist Statement (maximum one page), Resume/CV, and a five-image Portfolio with titles, dimensions, materials, and past budget details.
