With the transition of Monroe County, Centro Campesino’s Weatherization service area includes Broward, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Indian River, Lee, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, and St. Lucie Counties.    What is Weatherization?The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is a federally funded energy-efficiency program designed to help reduce energy costs for income-eligible households by improving the energy efficiency, health, and safety of the home. The program is not intended to provide general home repairs or cosmetic renovations.Examples of eligible weatherization measures may include:Address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking, thresholds, minor repairs to walls, ceilings and floors, and window and door replacementInstall attic and floor insulation (floors in northern Florida counties only)Install attic ventilationApply solar reflective coating to manufactured homesInstall solar screensRepair or replace inefficient heating and cooling unitsRepair or replace water heatersEligibility RequirementsApplicants generally must meet federal income eligibility guidelines not exceeding 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. These offsets cannot be appealed to the department's Unclaimed Property Unit; however, you should contact the collecting agency regarding the offset if you have questions. Why did I get an email or letter requesting more information? We need this information to continue the verification process. What if I do not provide the requested information? If the requested information is not received within 6 months of the request, the claim will be denied due to incomplete information. If you are able to provide the information after this time has passed, please do and we will either reopen your claim or start a new one. If we have requested information, such as proof of an address that you believe is not related to you, please contact us as [email protected]. My mailing address changed after filing my claim. What do I need to do? Provide documentation of your current mailing address such as a mortgage statement, lease, utility bill, etc. We will update your mailing address once this is received and prior to your claim being completed.
