What is Weatherization?The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is a federally funded energy-efficiency program designed to help reduce energy costs for income-eligible households by improving the energy efficiency, health, and safety of the home. The program is not intended to provide general home repairs or cosmetic renovations.Examples of eligible weatherization measures may include:Address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking, thresholds, minor repairs to walls, ceilings and floors, and window and door replacementInstall attic and floor insulation (floors in northern Florida counties only)Install attic ventilationApply solar reflective coating to manufactured homesInstall solar screensRepair or replace inefficient heating and cooling unitsRepair or replace water heatersEligibility RequirementsApplicants generally must meet federal income eligibility guidelines not exceeding 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
