Learn about all the ways to handle your incoming USPS® mail and packages and choose the best option. Get Informed Delivery Now both business and personal accounts can preview images of mail and manage incoming packages on one dashboard without entering tracking numbers. From the Informed Delivery® dashboard, you can also sign up for text or email notifications, schedule delivery alerts, request Redelivery, enter USPS Delivery Instructions®, and more. USPS Electronic Signature Online Informed Delivery for personal accounts includes USPS Electronic Signature Online® (USPS eSOL®), a feature that allows you to digitally sign for incoming packages that require a signature including Priority Mail Express®, Signature Confirmation™, and those insured for $500 or more. USPS carriers will leave your packages in your mailbox or at your preferred delivery location if they are too large to fit in your mailbox. Take Charge of Your Deliveries The Informed Delivery® Mobile app has features designed to enhance your experience. Simple Ways to Manage Your Mail Standard Forward Mail & Change of Address USPS is taking steps to increase security, combat identity theft, and further protect customers' information. When you submit a change of address request online, you need to take additional steps to verify your identity: Opt in online to receive a verification code or link on your mobile phone OR go to a Post Office™ location with an acceptable photo ID to complete the identity verification process in person. Pay the $1.25 identity verification fee. After your change of address request is approved, you'll get confirmation as well as instant access to valuable coupons provided by third-party retailers in your area. Your change of address request lasts for 12 months, but you can pay to extend it for 6, 12, or 18 more months. Premium Forwarding Mail Taking a long vacation or an out-of-town assignment? For a weekly fee, you can have most mail sent to you each week with Premium Forwarding Service Residential®. The temporary service is available for periods as short as 2 weeks and up to 1 year. USPS Package Intercept With USPS Package Intercept® service, the sender (or authorized representative) can redirect domestic packages, letters, and flats with a tracking or extra services barcode as long as the items have not yet been delivered or released for delivery. Retail Senders can request to have a shipment redirected back to their address or to a Post Office location as Hold For Pickup. Commercial Senders, through Business Customer Gateway, can request to have a shipment redirected back to their address, to a new delivery address, or to a Post Office location as Hold For Pickup. Reserve a PO Box Want to separate home and business mail or keep your address private? Reserving a PO Box™ is a great way to get your mail when and where you want it. PO Boxes are available in a range of costs and sizes. Find one online, complete the application, pay with a credit card, and bring the printed form, your emailed receipt, and two IDs to the Post Office. USPS Hold Mail If you're going out of town for a while, you can submit a USPS Hold Mail® request online and we'll keep your mail safely at your local Post Office until you return. You can schedule the service for a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 30 days in advance of your date or by 2 AM CST (Mon.–Sat.) on the start date. For enhanced security, USPS now requires you to create or sign in to your USPS.com account to verify your identity and current address before submitting a new online USPS Hold Mail request. Hold For Pickup Whether you're shipping from a retail store or printing your own shipping label with postage, you can always elect to Hold For Pickup. Hold For Pickup allows the recipient to collect a package at the local Post Office. Schedule Redelivery Service If we missed you when we tried to deliver your package or mail, you can get it redelivered by making a request online. Use the tracking barcode for your item and schedule Redelivery on a day that's more convenient for you. In select markets, recipients can also schedule Redelivery to a USPS® Smart Locker. If you have your tracking number, you can also schedule Redelivery via USPS Tracking®. USPS Delivery Instructions If your package doesn't fit in your mailbox and you won't be home to receive it, you can provide USPS Delivery Instructions online and authorize your carrier to leave it in a specified location. Just track your package and select "Delivery Instructions." You can request that your package be left with a neighbor or held at a Post Office for pickup. For the cost of additional postage, you can have your package sent to a different domestic address. You can also change your shipping service option, upgrading to Priority Mail Express® service or Priority Mail® service, as well as add insurance and extra services. Service is only available for packages sent domestically. Not available for packages sent to APO/FPO/DPO addresses. Other restrictions may apply.

Money Orders | USPS Sending Money Orders When sending money by mail, use money orders as a safe alternative to cash and personal checks. U.S. Postal Service money orders are affordable, widely accepted, and never expire. Your money order receipt will help you track your payment and show proof of value in case the money order gets lost, stolen, or damaged. You can buy or cash postal money orders at any Post Office location. How to Send Domestic Money Orders 1. Decide on the money order amount. You can send up to $1,000 in a single order anywhere in the United States. 2. Go to any Post Office location. 3. Take cash or a debit card. You cannot pay with a credit card. 4. Fill out the money order at the counter with a retail associate. 5. Pay the dollar value of the money order plus the issuing fee. 6. Keep your receipt to track the money order. Money Order Fees Fees are based on the money order dollar amount: - $0.01 to $500.00: $2.65 - $500.01 to $1,000.00: $3.75 - Postal Military Money Orders (issued by military facilities): $0.85 Receiving Postal Money Orders – How to Spot a Fake Before you accept a money order, make sure it's real. Real postal money orders have specific marks and designs to prevent fraud. There are 4 valid designs. Red, Blue, & Red Postal Money Order (July 2025) features a red, blue, and red color pattern with subtle design features of an eagle head and an American flag, and a QR Code in the center. Red & Blue Postal Money Order (February 2025) has a red and blue color pattern with subtle design features of an eagle head and an American flag, and a QR Code in the center. Green & Purple Postal Money Order (Point-of-Sale Version) has a green and purple color pattern with a U.S. Mail 1970 eagle logo in the center. Green & Purple Postal Money Order (Paymaster Version) has a green and purple color pattern with a U.S. Mail 1970 eagle logo in the center. Suspect a Fake? Check the dollar amount: Domestic money orders cannot be more than $1,000. The words and numbers for the amount should match. Discoloration or paper fiber disturbance around the dollar amounts may show the amounts were changed. If you can easily see watermarks without holding them up to the light, it may mean fraud. If you think you have been given a fake money order, verify the money order online by scanning the QR code, visiting tools.usps.com/money-orders.htm, or calling the Money Order Verification System at 1-866-459-7822. If you suspect fraud, contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) at 1-877-876-2455 or www.uspis.gov/report. How to Cash Domestic Money Orders Domestic money orders never expire and they do not accrue interest. Money orders are cashed for the exact amount on the order. You can cash a USPS money order at a Post Office for free. You can also cash them at most banks and some stores. Rural carriers may cash money orders if they have enough money on hand. Cashing a Money Order at the Post Office: 1. Do not sign the money order. 2. Take a primary photo ID with the money order to any Post Office location. 3. Sign the money order at the counter in front of a retail associate. Check the Status of a Money Order You can check the status of a money order you have purchased from the U.S. Postal Service at any time by visiting the Money Orders Application. Make sure you have the following information: Serial number, Post Office number, and Dollar amount. Replacing Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Money Orders Lost or Stolen Money Orders: You cannot stop payment on postal money orders, but a lost or stolen money order can be replaced. Money order loss or theft may take up to 30 days to confirm. Investigating a money order's lost or stolen status may take up to 60 days. There is a $23.00 processing fee to replace a lost or stolen money order. Requesting a Refund: Take your money order receipt to any Post Office location. Talk to a retail associate at the counter to start a Money Order Inquiry. After starting the inquiry, you will be able to check the status of your money order and inquiry progress by visiting the Money Orders Application. When your money order is confirmed lost or stolen, the USPS will issue a replacement money order. Damaged Money Orders: The USPS will replace money orders that are defective or damaged. Take the damaged money order and your receipt to your local Post Office location to get a replacement.

USPS Package Intercept - Stop Delivery of Letter or Package

USPS Package Intercept For a fee, USPS Package Intercept® service lets the sender (or authorized representative) stop delivery or redirect a package, letter, or flat that is not out for delivery or already delivered. Most domestic mailings with a tracking or extra services barcode are eligible for Package Intercept. Retail Senders: You can redirect a shipment back to your address or to a Post Office™ location as Hold For Pickup. You can only request a Package Intercept online with a USPS.com account. Commercial Senders: You can redirect a shipment back to your address, to a new delivery address, or to a Post Office location as Hold For Pickup via Business Customer Gateway. How It Works 1. Verify that your shipment is eligible for Package Intercept. 2. If eligible, sign in to or create a USPS.com account to submit your request. 3. Use Retail Package Intercept to request that USPS redirect the shipment back to the original sender (you), hold it at the destination Post Office location, or hold it at a new Post Office location. 4. After submitting your request, you'll be provided an estimated total (intercept fee plus estimated postage, if applicable). We will then attempt to intercept and redirect the shipment. 5. If the shipment is intercepted, your credit card will be charged the $19.45 Package Intercept fee plus any applicable postage. If the actual postage is greater than estimated, any additional postage will be charged accordingly. 6. Your shipment will be redirected to the location you requested. Intercept a Retail Package Paying for Package Intercept Intercepted items will be redirected as the service it was originally sent with (Priority Mail Express®, Priority Mail®, USPS Ground Advantage®, or First-Class Mail®). You must pay the applicable postage. Customers will not be charged if the shipment was not intercepted. If successfully intercepted, the non-refundable Package Intercept fee is applied to each intercept request. Package Intercept Price Information: $19.45 fee Retail and commercial customers can also purchase additional services for the intercepted package, like Adult Signature Required, Adult Signature Restricted Delivery, Signature Confirmation™, and insurance. Determining Eligibility USPS Package Intercept is not a guaranteed service and certain conditions apply. Monroe County reminds pet owners that dogs, cats, and ferrets six months of age or older must be licensed and have a valid license tag. Licensing your pets is a county requirement and also helps keep your furry family members safe and helps with their quick return if lost.Under Monroe County Code Sec. 4-65, any person owning or keeping a dog, cat, or ferret in Monroe County must license the animal within 30 days of establishing residency or once the animal reaches six months old. A license includes a certificate and a tag affixed to the animal’s collar or harness. Pets must also have a current rabies vaccination to obtain a license.Discounts are available for pets that are microchipped or tattooed with permanent identification. Residents who own a service dog may get a license at no charge, provided they submit the necessary documentation.Licenses are available through Monroe County Animal Control contractors, which include the Florida Keys SPCA in Key West and Marathon and the Humane Animal Care Coalition in Key Largo. Monroe County Solid Waste hosts quarterly Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste collections from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bernstein Park on Stock Island and 10600 Aviation Blvd in Marathon. There is no cost for Monroe County residents to dispose of the materials at the event. Household hazardous waste is often found in garages, sheds, storage areas, or under kitchen sinks. They are corrosive, flammable, reactive, or toxic. Residents can pick up bagged compost on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a limit of six bags per household, and no more than two households per vehicle. Household Hazardous Waste/E-Waste Collection Reminders

Monroe County Solid Waste hosts quarterly Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste collections from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bernstein Park on Stock Island and 10600 Aviation Blvd in Marathon. There is no cost for Monroe County residents to dispose of the materials at the event. Household hazardous waste is often found in garages, sheds, storage areas, or under kitchen sinks. They are corrosive, flammable, reactive, or toxic. E-waste can be items like televisions, computers, laptops, and old cell phones. Household Hazardous & E-Waste 2025 Collection Dates: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Marathon, 10600 Aviation Blvd. 7/11/26 10/10/26 1/9/27 Stock Island, Bernstein Park, 6751 5th Street 8/8/26 11/14/26 2/13/27 Hazardous waste examples include paints, stains, strippers, wood preservatives, roof tar, and patching compounds, adhesives, putty and caulk, auto/marine maintenance/care products, fiberglass and epoxy resins, solvents, hydraulic fluids, anti-freeze, waste oil, corrosives (muriatic acid, lye, etc.), pesticides, fertilizers, weed killers/herbicides, drain cleaners, pool cleaning products, fluorescent/CFL light bulbs, and waste containing mercury, like light bulbs and thermometers. HHW can also be disposed of at Monroe County transfer stations: Cudjoe Key Transfer Station, MM21.5, Blimp Road: First and third Wednesdays of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Long Key Transfer Station, MM68: First and third Fridays of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Key Largo, Corner of Atlantic Avenue and Homestead Avenue (Behind Walgreens). E-Waste and HHW: Second and fourth Wednesdays each month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to drop-off, Monroe County continues to offer its "Give Back" program, where residents can pick up available materials free of charge for small projects on the first Saturdays of each month from 8 a.m. to noon at the transfer stations. Available items may include paints, cleaners, polishes, oils, lubricants, solvents, and garden chemicals. These items have been collected or turned in by residents with excess, minimal, or little use and are still viable for their intended purpose. Local identification is required, with limits. Monroe County and its yard waste contractor continue to offer free compost (nutrient-rich black dirt) to the residents of unincorporated Monroe County and the cities of Marathon, Key Colony Beach, Islamorada, and Layton at the County's three transfer stations on the first Saturday of the month, also from 8 a.m. to noon or until it is gone. Residents can pick up bagged compost on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a limit of six bags per household, and no more than two households per vehicle. Proof of residency is required, such as a driver's license, utility bill, or tax bill. The next free give-back/compost events are on Saturday, Aug. 1. PET OWNERS: Reminder to Register Your Cats, Dogs, and Ferrets

Monroe County reminds pet owners that dogs, cats, and ferrets six months of age or older must be licensed and have a valid license tag. Licensing your pets is a county requirement and also helps keep your furry family members safe and helps with their quick return if lost. Under Monroe County Code Sec. 4-65, any person owning or keeping a dog, cat, or ferret in Monroe County must license the animal within 30 days of establishing residency or once the animal reaches six months old. A license includes a certificate and a tag affixed to the animal's collar or harness. Pets must also have a current rabies vaccination to obtain a license. Discounts are available for pets that are microchipped or tattooed with permanent identification. Residents who own a service dog may get a license at no charge, provided they submit the necessary documentation. Licenses are available through Monroe County Animal Control contractors, which include the Florida Keys SPCA in Key West and Marathon and the Humane Animal Care Coalition in Key Largo.
