Saginaw Gets Top Rating in Annual Financial Audit
The City of Saginaw received the highest possible rating in its annual financial audit, Jennifer Ripka, a partner with Weaver and Tidwell, LLP, told the City Council on Feb. 3. The city earned a favorable opinion for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2025.
Auditors examined whether Saginaw's financial records follow accepted accounting standards and contain no major errors. They also reviewed how staff tracks money, the estimates used in financial planning, and how the city presents information to the public.
The Texas Comptroller recognized Saginaw in 2025 with a Transparency Star for Traditional Finances, an award that acknowledges cities maintaining clear public records on fund use.
