Apopka Mayor Nesta Proclaims Hispanic Heritage Month; Community Celebration Set for Saturday at Kit Land Nelson Park

Apopka Mayor Nicholas L. Nesta, III officially proclaimed September 15 through October 15, 2026, as National Hispanic Heritage Month in Apopka. The proclamation, read during the Apopka City Commission Meeting on September 16, 2026, highlights the significant contributions of Hispanic Americans to the city's culture, society, and American values.

This annual recognition underscores the rich cultural heritage and profound influence of the Hispanic community in Apopka and across the nation. Hispanic-American men and women embody American values through their devotion to faith and family, hard work, and patriotism, serving as leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and members of the Armed Forces.

Residents can celebrate at the 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration this Saturday, September 26, 2026. The event will take place from 4 PM to 8 PM at Kit Land Nelson Park. AdventHealth sponsors the celebration.
