Apopka Celebrates National Community Planning Month
Apopka officially recognized October 2026 as National Community Planning Month, celebrating the collaborative efforts shaping the city's future.

The City of Apopka proclaimed October 2026 National Community Planning Month during its Oct. 7 City Commission meeting. Mayor Nicholas L. Nesta III issued the proclamation, highlighting community planning's role in guiding growth, preserving character, fostering economic vitality, and enhancing quality of life. The proclamation acknowledged the collaborative efforts of residents, businesses, organizations, officials and planners.
Effective planning balances economic development, environmental stewardship, housing, transportation, public services, and community health and safety. The City's Planning and Zoning staff and the Apopka Planning Commission received the proclamation, recognizing their work in evaluating proposals, implementing plans, facilitating public input, and assisting officials with informed decisions.
The annual observance celebrates stakeholders who create safe, healthy, resilient and vibrant communities.
