Extreme heat season is underway, and the City of Hollywood has cool places for residents to go when temperatures rise. If a Heat Warning is issued, visit one of the City's Community Cooling Centers for air-conditioned relief from the heat.

If a Heat Warning is issued, visit one of the City's Community Cooling Centers for air-conditioned relief from the heat. Please bring your own reusable water bottle and snacks. Cooling Center Locations and Hours: Armory Community Center Lobby 906 N. Dixie Highway Monday – Saturday: 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. through August Boulevard Heights Community Center Lobby 6770 Garfield Street Monday – Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Fred Lippman Multi-Purpose Center Lobby 2030 Polk Street Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Broward County Library – Hollywood Branch at City Hall Circle 2600 Hollywood Blvd. Monday – Wednesday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday – Saturday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Know the Signs of Heat-Related Illness Heat Exhaustion Symptoms: - Dizziness or fainting - Excessive sweating - Cool, pale, clammy skin - Nausea or vomiting - Rapid, weak pulse Heat Illness (Heat Stroke) Symptoms: - Throbbing headache or confusion - Body temperature above 103°F - Red, hot, dry skin - Little or no sweating - Nausea or vomiting - Rapid, strong pulse Call 911 immediately if someone is showing signs of heat stroke. Tips to Stay Heat Safe This Summer: - Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol. - Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day. - Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and a hat. - Seek shade whenever possible. - Provide water and shelter for outdoor pets. - Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and friends. - Never leave children or pets unattended in a parked vehicle.
