Floodplain Management Plan The City of Hollywood is developing a Floodplain Management Plan (FMP) and a complementary Repetitive Loss Area Analysis (RLAA) as part of its ongoing commitment to reducing flood risk and strengthening community resilience. The Floodplain Management Plan is a comprehensive, community-wide planning document that evaluates existing flood hazards, assesses current policies and programs, and identifies prioritized, actionable strategies to reduce flood damage to public and private property over time. The RLAA is a focused technical analysis that examines areas with a history of repetitive flood losses, identifies the underlying causes of flooding, and recommends targeted mitigation actions to reduce future damage. Completion and implementation of the FMP and RLAA are key components of the City's participation in the National Flood Insurance Program's (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS), helping the City to maintain and potentially improve its CRS classification, which in turn provides flood insurance premium reductions for policyholders and demonstrates the City's proactive approach to floodplain management, risk reduction, and long-term sustainability.
